Andre Hobbs: Medical Professional Specializing in Pain Care
Andre Hobbs is a medical professional who specializes in pain management and rehabilitation. His many clinical interests include electrodiagnostic medicine, interventional pain procedures, acupuncture, neuromodulation, occupational medicine, mild brain injuries, plasma and stem cell therapies, exercise physiology and physical medicine. He implements many of these interests in his current position as owner, president, and medical director of The Center for Quality Pain Care, which is his practice located in North Miami Beach, Miramar, & Coral Gables, Florida. Education and Training
During his undergraduate education at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Hobbs was a campus leader. He founded and became president of the Minority Association of Pre-Health Students. He also received several awards for academic and service excellence including the Phi Beta Sigma Academic Excellence Award, the Coors Academic Scholar Award, and the Martin Luther King Service Award. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences with departmental distinction and academic honors. He remained at this institution to earn his Doctor of Medicine.
Andre Hobbs was accepted into the internship program at Metropolitan Hospital which is affiliated with New York Medical School and located in New York City. His utilized his year-long internship and gained experience in general medicine, working with the Emergency Medicine, Medical Intensive Care, General Internal Medicine, and Medical Intensive Care units. After the successful completion of his internship, Hobbs participated in the residency program at Temple University Hospital. Here he was able to focus on his specialty of physical medicine and rehabilitation.
During his residency training, Hobbs worked on cases concerning both inpatient and outpatient procedures. They included sports medicine, general rehabilitation, brain injuries, and musculoskeletal medicine. He also worked with electrodiagnostic medicine where he was trained by licensed specialists to perform and interpret the study of the nerve and muscleelectrical patterns. Hobbs received dual board certification in physical medicine and rehabilitation and in pain medicine through the American Board of Medical Specialists.
Hobbs then joined the team at Georgia Pain Physicians to completed afellowship training program – associatedwith Emory University. This fellowship was accredited by the ACGME. This position allowed him to develop his skills as a pain management specialist. He worked on cases dealing with musculoskeletal medicine, annular denervation, discography, Botox injections, spinal cord and peripheral nerve stimulation implantation procedures, and peripheral joint injections. He also learned the administrative aspects of the practice through his coding and billing responsibilities. During this time, Hobbs also worked as an independent medical consultant for local chiropractic offices.
After completing his internship, Andre Hobbs accepted a position as a physiatry and pain management physician with Orthopedic Associates USA. He performed diagnostic evaluations and treatments to patients suffering from pain. He also treatedpatient’s involved in worker’s compensation cases with the state of Florida.
The Center for Quality Pain Care
Hobbs utilizes his past experiences to open his own practice in North Miami, Miramar ,&Coral Gables, the Center for Quality Pain Care, PA. This facility specializes in interventional pain procedures, acute and chronic pain management, sports medicine, nonsurgical spine management, electrodiagnostic medicine, and occupational medicine. The treatment philosophy of the practice is to improve functionality and mobility for all patients in order to enhance their quality of life.
From his past employment experiences, Hobbs gained an in depth understanding of the worker’s compensation program. This knowledge allowed him to implement the Back to Work program for his worker’s compensation patients. For this program he conducts detailed patient reports and assessments If the insurance provider questions the treatment of the employee involved in the worker’s compensation case, the Center for Quality Pain Care offers peer review services which evaluates the process.
Andre Hobbs: Hobbies and Interests
In his free time, Andre Hobbs enjoys listening to music. His favorite genres include jazz and Latin jazz, Chicago style house music, rhythm and blues, and old school hip-hop. He likes dancing and loves to participate in organized dancing such as salsa. He also relishes traveling and has many international destinations on his list to visit in the future.
Hobbs tries to stay up-to date on the current happenings of all sports, but his primary passion is for football. In the past, he was able to unite his love of athletics with his professional career by providing medical coverage at several athletic events. These include the Liberty Bell National Judo Classic, a wheelchair tennis tournament, all of the Plantation High School football games for the 2006 and 2007 seasons, and the Philadelphia area Catholic League football games for the 2003 season. He additionally was the medical coverage provider for Philadelphia University men’s and women’s basketball games for the 2002-2003 season.Youth Enrichment
Hobbs is a passionate participant in youth enrichment programs such as Big Brother/Big Sister. This organization is one of the oldest and largest of its kind in the United States. Their mission is to “provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.” Studies have shown that the children who are involved in this organization’s mentorship programming are more confident in their academic abilities, have an improved relationship with their families, and are less likely to use illegal substances, consume alcohol, or skip school.
Hobbs underwent a rigorous application process in order to mentor a young man with this organization. It included background checks, home assessments, references, in-person interviews, and training sessions. The commitment to become a volunteer mentor is for six month periods and includes participating in a two to four hour session weekly. Hobbs also participates in life skills counseling programs. He hopes to start a non-profit organization of his own in the future which focuses on youth development.
Andre Hobbs is also a big fan of comedy. He appreciates a wide-variety of comedians and goes to comedy clubs and shows whenever possible. He believes that humor is an important component of living a good life. Andre Hobbs enjoys making his patients smile, especially those who are dealing with chronic pain or those who have recently experienced a traumatic event.
